eGarage Productions in association with Long Island City Arts Open is pleased to announce the Long Island City Weekend Film Project. Starting Friday, May 14th at 7pm until Sunday May 15th teams of your choosing will write, perform, film, and edit your very own 10 minute short film over the course of two days (48 hours). When you arrive on Friday you will be given an envelope with your genre of film along with a topic and the main rule of your film project.  Your finished films will then air as a part of the Long Island City Arts Open weekend May 20th- 22nd. Winners will be decided by the audiences and prizes will be as follows:

1st Place: $500 cash prize

2nd Place: $250 cash prize

3rd Place: $100 cash prize

In addition to the cash prizes each team that places will also have their film available for download on the eGarage website with a chance to receive on-going revenue sharing. Every team that enters regardless of prizes will have their film shown at the Astoria/Long Island City International Film Festival. There will also be awards given to Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Writing, and Best Cinematography; however no cash prizes will be given in these categories.

There is a $50 non-refundable application/processing fee per team entered in the festival.
