It’s Film Festival Week. IT IS FILM FESTIVAL WEEK. Beginning Friday evening with the opening party at The Z Hotel and continuing through the weekend, The Astoria/LIC International Film Festival is taking the nabe, nay the entire city, by storm. Classic Movie Night (90 mins.)
My Dear Secretary
My Dear Secretary, released in 1948, stars Kirk Douglas as an immature playboy/best-selling novelist who hires a young writer, Laraine Day, with ideas of putting another notch on his bedpost. Ms. Day has other ideas. Throw in some humorous scenes with Keenan Wynn and you’ve got the makings of a pretty darn funny flick. It’s the battle of the sexes… in the workplace and beyond.

Power of Words Music Show (90 mins.)
The Power of Words Music Show is a New York City based, bi-weekly live performance web series showcasing the best talent in music, poetry, and spoken word. With performances by various artists of different genres, Power of Words has a magnificent blend of music and art culture. Hosted by seasoned performer, Brinez, Power of Words is sure to entertain and satisfy music lovers of all ages. Join us as we take a look and a listen, to the the sounds that fuel our souls, and surround our everyday lives.

Need I say more. Come strut your stuff. Strippers, singers, magicians, comedians, contortionists, knife-throwers, fire-eaters and more… All are welcome. All on the eGarage stage.

Improv Nation (60 mins.)
Performing every Thursday and Saturday at 7:30pm. Well usually. This is a special film fest week with a special Friday night Improv Nation. Come check out New York's newest improv venue. This short form show will feature performers from UCB and The Pit training centers along with former house players at The Magnet and ComedySportz. Sure to make you laugh, come enjoy this audience interactive show and eGarage's only 100% improvised show!

eGarage Comedy (120 mins.)
Featuring comedians from all over New York. From newcomers to veterans, eGarage Comedy is your stop to not only laugh but see the latest talent in the comedy world!

Saturday, October 15th

Open Mic (120 mins.)
Can you see into the future? I can. It’s Saturday night and you’re on your way to the eGarage for Open Mic. You’re bringing your friends for a night of truly unique entertainment starting with Open Mic and then Improv Nation. Come and perform before a live studio audience. Don’t have the knack? Come and see the show. It’s all good.

Improv Nation (60 mins.)
Need I say more. If you’ve been to The eGarage for an Improv Nation gig you know what a quick-witted and fast-tongued bunch this is. If not, come to The eGarage and check out the one, the only, short form improv show that is eGarage’s own… the incomparable Improv Nation.

Rock The Mic (120 mins.)
Rock the Mic is a monthly indie showcase held in Long Island City, NY. With the best unsigned artists from the New York area, the showcases are always full of talented artists and bands that attract A&R and industry people. Shows are held once per month, and feature 8-9 artists who each perform 3 songs.
